Product Description

The plant bitter melon belongs to the cucurbitaceae family and is known by its name. Bitter melon grows in tropical and subtropical regions, including parts of East Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and South America, where it is used both as food and medicine. It produces beautiful flowers and thorny fruit. The fruit of this plant is just like its name - it tastes bitter. While the seeds, leaves, and vines of bitter melon can all be used, the fruit is the safest and most widely used of the medicinal parts of the plant. The SAP from its leaves and the fruit or seeds are used as insect repellents; In Brazil, it is used as an insect repellent in doses of 2 to 3 seeds.
